Who We are?

From all over the Netherlands coming from seven different nationalities a group of musicians and performers gathered spurred by passion to perform compositions from the first half of the 20th century that were either forgotten or misrepresented through time. TARAB The merging of music and emotional transformation is articulated in the concept of Tarab, it is rapture and the state of reaching a trance and oneness with the music which corresponds with our musical vision. TARAB choir aims to select compositions according to both artistic and historical value, not merely according to ancient relevance, apart from touristic folklore.

About Tarab Orchestra The Musicians of the Tarab Orchestra are proud to serve our community and our institution by bringing artistic excellence to each and every performance. We are deeply committed, both individually and collectively, to enrich and vitalize our community through inspiring performances of timeless music. We feel a strong sense of unified purpose in maintaining the artistic excellence of this storied ensemble. From the leadership of past musical giants, to today the Tarab Orchestra is steeped in a rich tradition of performing orchestral music at the highest level. Sharing great music with you is our reason for being. We are the musicians and we’re glad you’re listening.
